Mental Health Engagement
We provide the local teams who manage public mental health services with a community resource to aid in the design, delivery and evaluation of their service. Every local mental health management team in the country is supported by its own engagement forum. This is a regular public meeting of people who have used their service and the people who have personal experience of supporting them (Family /Supporters).
We are all about Self Advocacy, that means understanding and articulating your experience in the context of helping others, meaning and purpose.

Age range: 13-19 for the Teen Forum
Time: It may take up to a week from your first expression of interest to get the permission and registration through the Clinic.
Do I need my parents permission if I'm under 18?: yes
How can I get involved as a young person?
Make contact: [email protected] for access to outline information and to be included on the mailing list. If you are under 16, parental consent will be sought. If you are under 18, parental permission will be sought to add your email to the list and to enable you to attend meetings. Details of teen forum attendees will be confirmed by the clinic.
We are establishing a teen engagement forum. Your input can shape how this will work to best represent people who have direct experience of Lucena clinics. This is an opportunity to actively participate in the management of your service.
Being a regular attendee and contributor to the Lucena forum is a meaningful and socially valuable role and will provide excellent self-advocacy, public speaking and committee membership experience. These skills will be supported by ongoing educational and personal development opportunities. The focus of engagement is to reflect on your experience and help management offer a better service to the next people coming through.
How have your services changed due to Coronavirus?
Forum meetings are on pause at the moment, but expressions of interest are always welcome.
